Tim Holtz Distress Ink & applicator

This is my new fave product with thanks to Nic Howard and the class I am doing on line with her at Big Picture Scrapbooking. Have just been online to order any of the colours that don't already like in my stash..... Since I discovered the applicator and pads (originally designed for his Alcohol inks) I've been addicted.

These are all great I use them alot... hahaha well I did when I was scrapping! If you add them direct with the pad then they are mauch darker than if you use the aplicator!
There is a very fine line between HOBBY and MENTAL ILLNESS!

I love them, too. I must get more colours, though I do already have 12! But sometimes I just wish I had a different shade.....you'd all know THAT story. The applicator adds a whole new dimension, doesn't it?

Oh yes Kathy - know that story well!!

The applicator is great. Just need to remember to use the felt pads for alcohol inks and the foam pads for distress inks

Just use the foam from a pack of brads. Works the same but is free.

That's a good idea. I was thinking you could probably cut up a kitchen sponge too perhaps. The felt you could cut yourself ... bought 1 pack just to check it out, and it's the most expensive felt I've bought!!:)

It's pretty thin Jo. I've bought some good quality felt squares, and some cheapies, and the ones that come with the Applicator are very thin, just like the cheapy felt squares I have. I guess the thick would work just as well, just might hold a bit more ink.

I love them Jo - amazing backgrounds ... but like all things scrappy, don't use them as much as I'd like

Might have to add them to a future wish list. I know they have to come via road transport as they are highly flammable so can't come in the post.

Hiya Jo!! Been a long time!!!

Hope you have been keeping well! anyhow - just reading through - I like the alcohol inks - use them mainly on acetate. They give a great stained glass effect. I have used them on leaves and butterflies. I really like the random mix of colours when you just drop a colour on and watch is spread.

I am just getting into the distress inks and have purchased one of the applicator merry go round things! That way I can use it for either alcohol inks or distress inks and have a few colours on the go.

Hi Shaneen - lovely to see you on the boards :D

I've got one of the merry go round things on back order with my supplier but they missed out on their last shipment  I'd love one to keep it all easy to hang without having ink everywhere. Thanks for your feedback on the alcohol inks - I think I'm definitely off to add them to my wishlist
